Our first annual "Grandparents Week" kicked off at the end of July with Oliver, Jimmy and Abby. Kids must be potty trained to attend so Evelyn is going to have to wait until she is a little bigger! Everyone was excited and there was no apprehension for any of the kids over leaving home to come stay with us for a week. We didn't have too much planned and decided just to play it by ear and see how it went, day by day. We figured just hanging out and spending time together was the most important thing so no trips to crowded theme parks or venues were planned - except for one.

Playing around the house kept everyone busy for the most part. Uncle Eli came by and Abby was happy to help him wash his truck. Aunt Jessica was here for school and came with us to lend a hand on a few occasions. Playing in the yard, swimming, running through the sprinklers, playing Wii and DS were daily activities. We had some new kids' movies downloaded for times to wind down. There were daily crafts and puzzle. On the second day they all colored postcards to send home to their parents.

We ate at Ruby's and went to the movies to see Smurfs 3D.

On Tuesday night we went to see Ringling Brothers Barnam and Bailey's Circus at The Pond.It was the first time any of the kids had been to the circus. They were very excited and really enjoyed it, although it ran a little late for Abby who fell asleep before it was over.

On the last day we took the train down to San Diego. we walked around and had lunch, ice cream cones and rode the Merry-Go-Round before heading to the toy store where everyone got to pick out a toy to take home. The next day it was time for everyone to head home. It was a little sad for them all to pack their things up and say good-by to their cousins, but they can look forward to next year!
