There is an element in a garden that is really out of the control of the gardener, and that is time. There is a specific beauty that evolves within a landscape that is maturing that cannot be duplicated by any other means than simple patience. Shrubs grow into trees, bulbs multiply, colors change, seeds spread. When we started the garden in Laguna 13 years ago it began as a simple cutting garden. Not in our wildest dreams did we ever envision what this garden has become, which is certainly our oasis of calm and serenity in a hectic world. Every time we walk the garden it seems like there is a new view, plant, or blossom that is a gift from nature, designed to remind us how beautiful a world in which we live, and in doing so, it takes your breathe away. Moments like that are a precious gift from the garden.
